Here's a fun link that lists box office of top films ADJUSTED FOR INFLATION.
An interesting column is "No. of Tickets Sold." Box office returns is the common metric for film success; I've never seen nor even thought about the number of tickets sold. I'm not sure if that's domestic or international. Also, I think domestic includes Canada.
